The future for science in Europe is bright – and full of clouds! The International science grid this week covers the Helix Nebula partnership event which took place last week at the European Space Agency's ESRIN facility in Frascati, Italy.
Helix Nebula is No 8 in the Top Ten list of Cloud initiatives in 2012 of the HPC magazine. Helix Nebula is part of the list together with great initiatives for the cloud ecosystem launched in 2012 such as: Amazon web services, Open Cloud/ API initiatives and much more.
Last week EGI had its Fall Technical Forum in Prague, colocated with GlobusEUROPE. The honor of delivering the opening keynote went to Bob Jones of CERN, who started off with an overview of CERN's big data requirements and the progress of the EU Science Cloud, Helix Nebula.
